So, last weekend I’m told by the Barry Evans lookalike at Reed of Trowbridge (a Ford dealer no less) that it’s only the Zetec (and the ST170 and RS) Focus’ that have the multi adjustable steering column that allows me to sit comfortably. So, I start my search for a Zetec. Down at my local Ford dealer today I’m pottering about the forecourt and the salesman asks if he can help. I explain I’m looking for a 1.6 Zetec Focus, “Why a Zetec specifically if I may ask?” he asks, I explain about the steering column. He looks at me oddly and say “Thats balls, the LX and Ghia both have that too” and proceeds to demonstrate on a handily nearby LX. So Mr Reed of Trowbridge, sort it out!
The LX was a nice drive, I’m trying a Zetec tomorrow.
