I have been thinking. There is much talk about what Apple with do with the iBook, or should I say ‘MacBook’? There are a number of people that say it needs to hit the 999 USD price point for the educational market, then there are those that say it needs to be more powerful to keep somewhere near the MacBookPro (perhaps the MacBook will even replace the 12″ Powerbook?) and that the speed bump on the MBP to “free up” the 1.67 Core Duo to slip into the MacBook. I don’t see though, that Apple can his the 999USD market with a 1.67CoreDuo CPU, only with a single core Yonah, which is where I start to think…
There is not a hint about anything other than a 13″ MacBook, but we know Apple likes to have a few options, so I reckon the new MacBook will ship in two versions, single core an dual core. It makes some sense, the dual core isn’t twice as fast, so a faster single core than dual core would narrow the gap. So, a single core 2Ghz for 999USD and a dual core 1.67Ghz at 1299. Will it come in black though?
