Having left Sri Lanka in the early hours of Saturday morning, I arrived in Singapore in time for breakfast (a very early breakfast). Rather than eat though I slept for a few hours. Grabbed a cab (staying out towards the Airport, on Meyer Road – expat city!) and headed into Chinatown for a wander about. A fascinating place, full of life and character. Sunday was supposed to be a trip over to Orchard road (main shopping area) but sleeping won and I didn’t get up till noon. A nice swim and some food consumed the afternoon before heading into town to meet a colleague for a drink in the bar at the top of the Swissotel Stamford Plaza. The view from the bar on the 70th floor was rather magnificent! See pics below. Wandered down to the bay and ate Singapore chili crab under the gaze of the Merlion before a stroll around the bay to grab a cab home. I like Singapore 🙂
Pictures (sorry, only from phone so a bit crap) HERE.
