I just want to crawl under a rock and cry for a few hours. Dell are simply incompetent fools. They have outsourced their tech support to monkeys in India who have no common sense and can’t see past the tick box sheet in front of them. It should not take 90minutes to organise a replacement monitor for heavens sakes! Then, to add insult to injury the Dell “engineer” (I’m sorry, but he is a technician, engineer requires qualifications and professional accreditation) turns up(finally!) to fix ws1 in NYC7. After 2 hours he has managed to replace the RAID card, cable, backplane and a fan. 2 hours? Not only that but now when the machine boots it won’t find any bloody RAID volumes so I’ll have to call the twat back tomorrow to sort it out again. Why the f*ck can they not just check their work before they go? Paid by the job most likely, rather than by the quality of the job.
Perhaps I have to high expectations of people? Perhaps I should just accept that there days all you ever get is shite? But why should I? I work my butt off to get things done properly and more fool me I actually care about the job I do. Sadly it seams I’m old fashioned and somewhat of a one off. Why do we bother? Is there somewhere in this world where a little professional standard can still be found? Somewhere where people don’t just take take take? I want to go there, I want to work there, I want to live there. American and the UK just suck right now. Everything just going down the shitter.
